In Or Out?

In or Out? I ask myself, come every night. I gaze at the stars, oh, so bright Painting a pretty sight. The bars are true, bold, and black Staring back at me, cold and stark. Gone are the days when I could park My shadow, in or out of bars, once dark. When the sun comes back After a full night’s nap, And gates I see, the unkind lark Nature’s way of leaving the right track. In or Out? I ask myself, come every light. Behind the bars, beneath the blue Flooding my heart with hope.
